About
Hi! My name is Marissa Cianchetti and I am currently a sophomore at Centre College. I grew up in a suburb west of Chicago, called St. Charles. In high school I was a pretty big sports fan. I was even part of a group called the Superfans who went to every game. At my high school I played sports but most of my effort and concentration went to golf. My dad is a golf fanatic and really pushed me to play. He also was the one who put the idea of playing college golf into my head. I looked at a lot of colleges and spoke to a lot of coaches, but in the end I narrowed it down to two. My first choice was Mount Holyoke, an all girls school in South Hadley Massachusetts.
The other was Centre. When I came to Centre for my first PS (potential student) visit, it was second time I ever came to Kentucky. I wasn’t a big fan of Kentucky, or Danville, but I loved the school. How could anyone live in a town where there’s no mall?
After a lot of thought, I decided to come to Centre; come on now, it was pretty hard to turn down an all girls school. So far I have not regretted my decision. I have had a lot of culture shock since then going to a small school in a small town, but I have learned to love both. I even chose to live in Danville all summer. Since then I have decided that the south is better than north. I might even go as far to say that the Mason-Dixon line should be a fence. But after all these new memories I still remember where I came from.
Now, as of two days ago a started my sophomore year and that’s where this story begins…
